About the Role

John Sisk & Son, a family-owned international construction firm known for its commitment to trust, certainty, and innovation, is seeking a Tender Bid Manager. This pivotal position entails leading the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting infrastructure tender proposals. The successful candidate will develop bid strategies encompassing technical, commercial, and delivery aspects, ensuring all submissions are comprehensive, compliant, and aligned with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of assigned tenders from initial receipt through to final submission, shaping the overall bid strategy.
  • Analyze tender documents, clarifications, amendments, and employer specifications thoroughly.
  • Serve as the central coordinator for all tender communications, handling queries and managing distribution through eTenders and internal channels.
  • Maintain and track tender query registers, deliverable registers, and coordinate internal review cycles to uphold quality standards and deadlines.
  • Oversee tender formatting, templates, branding, and adherence to document standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Estimating, Engineering, HSEQ, ISS, and support departments to collect necessary inputs and ensure submission consistency.
  • Arrange and manage regular tender meetings, including finalisation and governance sessions involving bid management, commercial teams, and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and/or supervise technical content preparation, covering methodology, execution plans, logistics, sequencing, resource allocation, and innovative approaches.
  • Ensure coordination between technical submissions, cost models, planners, and external consultants or partners.
  • Act as the primary client liaison on bid-related matters and coordinate with Legal, Insurance, Procurement, Commercial, and RCD to manage compliance and commercial risks.
  • Lead internal approval processes, including red-team reviews, commercial and technical sign-offs, maintaining all related documentation and records.
  • Monitor deliverable progress, escalating risks or delays as necessary to senior leadership.
  • Manage final digital and physical tender submission production along with client presentation rehearsals.
  • Handle post-submission clarifications, interviews, and negotiations effectively.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

  • Experience in delivering infrastructure or civil engineering projects with a strong grasp of relevant construction methodologies.
  • Adept at managing complex tender processes involving multidisciplinary teams and contributions.
  • Superior written communication skills and proven ability in bid writing.
  • Capability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams efficiently under strict deadlines.
  • Well-organized with excellent communication, document formatting, and coordination skills.
  • Adept at handling multiple tenders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering is essential.
