Job description
Position overview
The city-owned enterprise Aachen Event is looking to fill the role of Bestuhler*in in the Technik division as soon as possible. This is a permanent full-time position based in Aachen.
Aachen Event operates and markets several event venues and open-air areas used for conferences, congresses, corporate events, trade fairs, and major events. Its portfolio includes the multifunctional Eurogress venue, the Business & Event area at the Tivoli football stadium, the approximately 32,000 m² Bendplatz open-air event site, and the Kurhaus as an event venue in a historic and distinctive setting.
With around 310 events and more than 1.1 million visitors each year, the spaces, buildings, and areas it markets rank among Aachen’s most important venues and serve as a key showcase for the city.

Main duties
- Set up seating, tables, trade fair structures, and stage-related constructions needed to run events across all locations.
- Make available, maintain, and care for the existing stock of materials and equipment.
- Regularly check all available materials for completeness.
- Carry out routine cleaning of materials and equipment.
- Store both in-house and externally supplied materials properly in and out of storage.
- Dismantle and store equipment after use.
- Take apart materials after events, inspect them for correct function, cleanliness, and safety, and pack them in transport containers or protect them with coverings to preserve value.
- Clearly label damaged materials.
What the role requires
- Physical fitness is mandatory, including the ability to lift and carry loads above 5 kg.
- Good written and spoken German at B2 level is required.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office is needed.
- A friendly manner and enjoyment in working with people are important.
- Safety-conscious, responsible, and composed behavior is expected.
- Strong conflict-handling ability, independence, and teamwork skills are required.
- High commitment is necessary, as working hours may vary depending on events and can include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- A class B driving licence and willingness to drive an employer-provided vehicle when starting the job are required.
