Job description
Role Overview
Amazon is looking for an experienced international employee benefits specialist to join the Global Expansions Benefits team. This position supports the design, strategy, implementation, and documentation of employee benefits globally—including the US—in the context of Amazon’s expanding operations and mergers & acquisitions. The role covers financial benefits, health and welfare programs, and time-off policies, operating as an individual contributor to support multiple key expansion and M&A initiatives, while identifying innovative benefit opportunities suited to rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the benefits manager in developing benefit strategies and program designs aligned to Amazon’s Global Benefits Framework, market trends, regulatory compliance, and adaptable to unique expansion requirements.
- Provide inputs for written proposals and cost impact analysis while collaborating extensively with internal stakeholders to gather feedback and refine recommendations.
- Support implementation of approved benefits programs, including selecting and onboarding benefit providers, preparing project plans, allocating resources, and documenting policies to ensure a smooth transition to regional administration teams.
- Assist with benefits integration in acquisitions within countries where Amazon already operates benefits programs.
- Ensure programs comply with Amazon’s benefits philosophy as well as local legal and regulatory standards by monitoring costs, financial impacts, funding needs, competitiveness, and adherence to best practices.
- Handle vendor relationships, manage costs and vendor performance for benefits programs and new entity setups.
Typical Workday
Daily activities involve close collaboration with Expansion and M&A Project Managers, HR leaders, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and other stakeholders to monitor benefits workstream progress. You'll work cross-functionally with operations, compliance, and systems teams to develop and roll out new benefit offerings tailored to expansion requirements, engaging with internal teams and external consultants to enhance the benefits experience for Amazon employees worldwide.
