About the Role
Budmouth Academy in Weymouth is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to join its Pastoral team. This role is focused on fostering positive behaviour and attitudes towards learning, working closely with teaching and support staff to monitor and improve students' behaviour, attendance, and progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to any ‘on call’ alerts to support students' return to class or supervise removal to the Subject Removal Room.
- Provide emotional and social support to students by modelling and encouraging positive behaviour in line with academy policy, maintaining high expectations consistently.
- Assist with pastoral care by supporting students who are unwell, distressed, or injured.
- Supervise students during social times to ensure their wellbeing and appropriate conduct.
- Organize and manage detentions for students who have been removed due to disruptive behaviour or use of the reset room.
- Communicate with parents regarding students who do not meet behaviour expectations associated with the Subject Removal Room.
- Address behaviour and attendance issues constructively while keeping students, staff, and parents informed.
- Maintain a visible presence around the academy to support emotional regulation and behaviour management during lessons.

Additional Information
This is a part-time position, 40 hours weekly plus 5 additional inset days during term time only, based on Grade F12 - F17, with an annual salary of £26,475. The post requires an enhanced DBS check as part of safeguarding measures.
