Overview
LifeCare Medical Center, serving the region since 1915, is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Access team member in Roseau, Minnesota. Schedule and Pay
This position is based in Roseau and follows a Monday through Friday schedule. Standard hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional evening coverage as needed. The role is 40 hours per week at 1.0 FTE. The hourly pay range is $19.25 to $25.02. Hiring at the top end of the range is not typical; compensation depends on experience, education, certification/licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is only one part of the overall compensation package.
Key Duties
The Behavioral Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Access staff member supports front-desk and patient-access functions for the Behavioral Health Department, including welcoming patients and visitors, handling phone calls, coordinating department activity, registering patients in Epic, verifying insurance, scheduling and checking in appointments, collecting consent for treatment, scanning documents into the electronic record, resolving missing account information in assigned work queues, posting charges to patient accounts, maintaining Behavioral Health records, arranging preauthorization when required, and releasing protected health information with direction from Health Information staff.
Ideal Background
The preferred candidate has education related to the medical field, a medical office assistant certification, or training in medical terminology. Prior experience in a patient access role is preferred. Strong customer service, attention to detail, independent work habits, and a high level of self-motivation are important for success in this role.
