Beauty Advisor

Overview

Ulta Beauty is seeking a Beauty Advisor to create a welcoming, high-energy shopping experience for guests who are passionate about beauty. This role supports the store’s mission by helping guests discover products and services that match their needs, while contributing to sales, service, and overall store presentation.

The position is ideal for someone who enjoys beauty, communicates well, and takes pride in delivering memorable guest experiences. The role combines sales support, product guidance, store upkeep, and participation in store events and operational routines.

What You Will Do

As a Beauty Advisor, you will help drive performance across retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel support, and shrink awareness. You will greet and assist guests, personalize recommendations, explain promotions, support services and events, and help resolve customer needs with professionalism.

You will also contribute to store standards by restocking merchandise, maintaining cleanliness, helping with resets and signage, supporting shipments and inventory tasks, and protecting company assets through loss prevention practices. Ongoing product learning, training, and strong teamwork are key parts of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support store goals tied to retail sales, service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and shrink.
• Welcome guests, understand their needs, and deliver personalized assistance and product recommendations.
• Handle customer service issues, sales transactions, refunds, exchanges, and online order support.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare evaluations, and product demonstrations to enhance the guest experience and support sales.
• Assist with booking appointments and helping execute services and in-store events.
• Stay current on product lines, ingredients, benefits, and services during work hours.
• Maintain dependable, regular attendance.
• Help foster an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
• Promote the loyalty program, credit offerings, and mobile app when appropriate.
• Work with managers and store associates to support business growth.
• Take part in brand and category training to build knowledge and improve performance.
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code requirements.
• Keep assigned areas stocked, organized, signed, and tester-ready.
• Maintain a clean store environment across the sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area.
• Help with resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory processes, and shipment handling.
• Use loss prevention best practices and deliver strong guest service to help protect company assets.
• Complete additional operational tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma is preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience, or an equivalent mix of education and related experience, is preferred.
• Genuine passion for guest service and confidence in selling.
• Comfort using basic technology, including point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
• Ability to build lasting customer relationships.
• Strong troubleshooting ability.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability for a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to remain mobile throughout the shift and perform frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 lbs continuously or frequently during shifts.
• Ability to coordinate and manipulate objects throughout the shift.
