About Ferg's Bar
Ferg's Bar is located on Shotover Street in the heart of Queenstown, next to the renowned Fergburger. It is a cherished spot for locals and tourists alike, celebrated for its welcoming vibe, diverse menu, and dynamic ambiance that epitomizes Queenstown's lively hospitality industry.
Operating from 7 am, the bar offers a variety of items ranging from superb coffee and elevated breakfasts to striking Bloody Marys, tapas, and premium cocktails. The environment is fast-paced, guest-centered, and adheres to high standards throughout the day and night.
At Ferg's Bar, the experience is more than just a visit – it’s an atmosphere crafted through careful attention to detail, including expertly designed bartending spaces, carefully selected menus, and even refined bathroom facilities. Whether guests are dining, drinking, or working, Ferg's Bar aims to be the most enjoyable place to be. This position demands multitasking abilities to listen, entertain, serve, and surprise customers.
Role Overview
The core responsibility is to provide excellent coffee and guest experiences, ensuring every customer begins their day positively. The role requires being an engaging and confident host on both sides of the coffee machine, juggling tasks such as chatting, serving, and delighting guests while maintaining efficiency, consistency, and quality.
This is a full-time role entailing 40+ hours weekly with early morning starts at 6:30 am.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently prepare and serve premium quality coffee with efficiency.
- Offer warm, engaging, and memorable service during every guest interaction.
- Greet guests with genuine hospitality and foster an inviting atmosphere.
- Anticipate guests’ needs to deliver exceptional service that surpasses expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness and a pleasant ambiance at all times.
- Possess knowledge of the menu and drinks to assist with guest inquiries.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three years of experience in a comparable role.
- Strong understanding of coffee preparation, including latte art skills and basic machine troubleshooting.
- Outgoing, confident, and personable demeanor with a true passion for guest service.
- Sales-oriented and focused on providing excellent service.
- High standards regarding grooming and personal appearance.
- Holding LCQ (License Controller Qualification) and Duty Manager Certificate is highly advantageous.
- Availability to predominantly work morning shifts starting at 6:30 am.
