Role overview

What you will do
- Welcome guests promptly and courteously, build familiarity with regular customers, and respond to their preferences and needs.
- Prepare hot and cold drinks according to set recipes and brand standards.
- Interact with customers in a helpful way and provide product knowledge when required.
- Respond to questions about coffee, tea, blends, preparation methods, and freshness.
- Process orders on the POS system and handle cash or card payments accurately, including giving correct change.
- Create new beverage ideas in line with menu updates and current market trends.
- Complete food safety checklists and follow approved procedures consistently.
- Monitor expiry dates daily to avoid food safety issues.
- Keep the bar, tools, and workstations tidy, clean, and sanitized to ensure smooth operations.
- Raise stock orders based on par levels or business requirements.
- Escalate guest complaints to the on-duty manager so they can be addressed quickly.
- Receive stock and retail goods and rotate items using FIFO practices.
- Support upselling efforts through guest engagement and personal initiative.
- Coordinate with team members and the manager on out-of-stock items during service.
- Check freezer, refrigerator, and heating equipment temperatures to confirm proper operation.
Requirements
- High school qualification is required.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar barista position, ideally in a luxury brand, 5-star hotel, or comparable environment.
- Strong English communication skills are necessary.
- Knowledge of tea, including loose-leaf varieties, is expected.
- A portfolio demonstrating coffee art and design ability is required.
- You should be able to create balanced beverages aligned with the latest market trends.
- Arabic language skills will be an advantage.
