About the Role

Urban Gourmet India Pvt Ltd is seeking a dedicated Barista to join the team at their Twenty Seven Bakehouse locations in Goregaon and Mahalaxmi, Mumbai. This role centers on preparing and serving a diverse range of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages while ensuring outstanding customer experience. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean and organized café environment, operating all coffee equipment efficiently and following strict food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare an extensive variety of hot and cold coffee beverages including espresso-based drinks and specialty teas.
• Engage with customers by taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and providing detailed product knowledge.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and milk frothers, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning well.
• Keep the café space tidy and orderly, covering workstations, counters, seating areas, and equipment cleanliness standards.
• Follow precise recipes and company standards to guarantee consistent high-quality beverage preparation.
• Manage stock levels by restocking items and assisting with inventory control.
• Promote additional items to customers to improve their experience, such as recommending pastries or alternative milk options.
• Clean and service coffee equipment regularly and report any technical difficulties to management promptly.
• Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation requirements related to food handling and workplace cleanliness.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to maintain smooth operations during busy periods and foster a positive team environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Preferably possess knowledge of Specialty Coffee practices.
• Prior experience in a barista role within hotels, cafés, or restaurants is advantageous.
• Familiarity with using manual coffee machines and brewing equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced setting while paying close attention to detail, especially in drink preparation and customer requests.
• Enthusiasm and passion for coffee along with an understanding of various brewing techniques.
• Minimum education of high school or equivalent.
• Friendly demeanor and energetic presence with a customer-oriented mindset.
