Overview

Join Jovie as a Back Up Nanny to provide in-home childcare across multiple families in the Seattle and Eastside locations. This role offers a flexible schedule ideal for individuals such as former educators, babysitters, daycare workers, or volunteers seeking a smaller-scale childcare environment. You will care for infants through toddlers, primarily focusing on children under 2 years old. Transportation of children is not required, nor are household chores, beyond cleaning up after activities or meals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide child care in the family home without transporting children.
  • Maintain cleanliness related to activities and meals performed with the child.
  • Support children’s development by safely engaging in age-appropriate hands-on activities.
  • Adapt care based on observation of each child's individual developmental needs.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Hourly pay ranges from $20 to $25.
  • Paid training and a nanny kit equipped with developmental activities and games for childcare use.
  • Additional benefits for full-time employees including medical stipends, paid vacation and holidays, student loan repayment matching, and retirement savings matching.
  • Performance bonuses and contests awarding gift cards and extra cash incentives.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Experience with children is required, including mandatory infant care experience.
  • Possess reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various homes in the area.
  • Availability to work at least four days a week in 6 to 8-hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Child-focused and active setting with some outdoor play dependent on weather.
  • Physical demands include frequent lifting (up to 35 pounds), bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, and frequent floor movements.
  • Ability to respond quickly and calmly to emergencies as necessary.
