Autonomous Driving Principal Architect

Opportunity Overview

The Principal Architect for Autonomous Driving will oversee the architecture, design, and development of the entire anSWer software product suite. This role demands leadership in creating system solutions and technologies aligned with platform benchmarks, customer expectations, and technological advancement roadmaps in the automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment and advancement of DVS vision platform standards by crafting embedded system architectures based on Valeo and customer criteria. Collaborate with R&D platform divisions to architect viable platform solutions.
• Define and maintain standardized system architectures for Valeo Vision Systems, covering advanced functions such as cameras, ECUs, surround view visualization, trailer assistance, automated parking, and autonomous driving features utilizing computer vision, deep learning, and sensor fusion technologies including ultrasonics, radar, and lidar.
• Contribute to shaping the Technical Development Plan by analyzing market and technology research and benchmarking outputs to recommend product features and technological roadmaps.
• Conduct in-depth technology analyses focusing on system components such as cameras, multicore SoCs, MCUs, video transmission technologies, image processing, algorithms, and HMI.
• Collaborate globally with Valeo teams and represent the DVS R&D platform at industry forums and within the organization.
• Engage consistently with customer engineering teams on ongoing and advanced projects.
• Initiate and propose innovations through patent creation to safeguard intellectual property and ensure no infringement issues arise.
• Manage ongoing reviews of customer product developments in line with project timelines and milestones.
• Organize and conduct technology demonstrations for key customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educational background in engineering is essential; possession of Masters or PhD degrees in engineering is strongly preferred.
• Over 10 years of professional experience, ideally encompassing diverse skills in both system and software architecture design.
• Proven success in executing projects within an international context.
• Track record of successful product launches in the automotive ADAS domain.
