About the Role
Join one of Canada's Best Managed Companies at Abbotsford Hyundai, part of Trotman Auto Group, as an experienced Automotive Warranty Administrator. This essential role focuses on enhancing Service Department profitability through comprehensive knowledge of dealership operations, repair order workflows, technician labor activities, OEM warranty regulations, manufacturer compliance, and maximizing warranty revenue recovery opportunities. This is a specialized position, not suited for entry-level administrative or data entry applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess repair orders, technician notes, and related documentation to confirm warranty eligibility.
- Validate labor operations, coding accuracy, parts usage, and warranty claim correctness.
- Submit warranty claims aligned with OEM standards.
- Discover missed labor operations and potential reimbursement areas.
- Collaborate closely with Technicians, Service Advisors, Parts Department, and Management.
- Address denied claims and secure necessary approvals.
- Track claim acceptance rates, warranty receivables, and chargebacks.
- Assist with warranty audits and revenue recovery initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturer policies and procedures.
- Keep updated on recalls, service campaigns, technical bulletins, and policy updates.
- Maintain accurate and detailed warranty records.
- Help optimize warranty reimbursements while ensuring dealership compliance.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates demonstrate thorough understanding of:
- OEM warranty policies and procedural requirements.
- Technician operations and repair order processing.
- Proper warranty labor coding and labor times.
- Techniques to maximize reimbursement and prevent chargebacks.
- Service campaigns, manufacturer recalls, and warranty compliance documentation.
- Warranty audit processes and identification of revenue leakages.
- Relationships between parts and labor operations.
- Vehicle systems and repair workflows.
- The financial impact of warranty performance on service department profitability.
Candidate Requirements
- Must have either:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Warranty Administrator in an OEM dealership setting;
- OR a minimum of 3 years of experience in one of the following roles within an OEM dealership: Senior Service Advisor, Journeyman Automotive Technician, 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Technician, Shop Foreman, Dispatcher, or Tower Operator.
- Candidates lacking relevant dealership experience in these capacities will not be considered.
