Position details

The role is for a Manufacturing - Automotive (Mechanical Engineering) Expert. It is a contract assignment that can be done remotely.

What you will do

  • Create a lifelike digital work environment based on the Drive folders you use in your regular work, including design review files, DFMEA/PFMEA documents, PPAP packages, tolerance studies, benchmarking presentations, test outputs, and email exchanges.
  • Develop multi-stage assignments that reflect actual engineering workflows and require moving across several applications, files, and stakeholders to test advanced AI agents.
  • Partner with fellow automotive engineering specialists to shape the environment, define the scope of tasks, and assess scenarios for authenticity and technical rigor.
  • Work independently with research teams to improve task design and the criteria used to evaluate automotive engineering agent benchmarks.
  • Help advance frontier AI research by contributing to benchmark design that influences how leading labs train and assess next-generation AI systems.

Required background

Candidates should hold a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and have at least 3 years of full-time experience with a Fortune 500 automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier. Experience should include one or more of the following areas: vehicle or subsystem design, CAE/CAD/simulation engineering, manufacturing/process engineering, or quality engineering. Day-to-day familiarity with ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, Siemens Opcenter, or SAP S/4HANA is also expected. Strong analytical reasoning and writing ability are important.

Compensation and legal details

Payment is described on a per-task basis at $1,150 to $1,450 per task, with quality-dependent pay and a weekly bonus for strong performers. The role may later shift to hourly compensation if sustained quality and throughput are demonstrated.
