Role overview

The Dismantler role focuses on safely and efficiently removing valuable automotive components and reusable core parts from vehicles. This position is based in Greer, SC and is a full-time, on-site job.

Key duties

  • Remove high-value parts from vehicles, including hybrid batteries, catalytic converters, airbags, and similar components, while following safety practices.
  • Set aside valuable cores and parts for pickup by vendors or customers.
  • Handle customer counter-sales by taking the order, pulling the required items, and delivering them to the sales counter.
  • Operate a forklift and load trucks when needed.
  • Keep the assigned work area clean, organized, and in good order.
  • Work to meet productivity targets and related guidelines.
  • Use handheld or comparable devices to enter data and produce reports when required.
  • Follow company policies and internal procedures at all times.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned.

Supervision

This position does not include responsibility for supervising other employees.

Requirements

Applicants should bring practical automotive repair experience and be willing to complete the required training. Tools needed for the job will be supplied as necessary.

Preferred background

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Skills and abilities

The role calls for basic math and computer skills, clear spoken communication, the ability to write short notes or simple records, and comfort working with routine, repeatable tasks. Candidates should be able to follow standard procedures with limited decision-making, take direction from a supervisor or manager, and use hand tools as well as powered tools.

Physical and work environment

The job involves frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and sitting for extended periods. Work may take place in tight spaces or underneath vehicles, sometimes in awkward positions. Employees must wear PPE regularly and may be exposed to hazardous conditions, extreme temperatures, heavy noise, fuel or exhaust contaminants, and other equipment-related risks. The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds. Rare travel, including overnight travel, may be needed depending on the position.
