Job description
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Diagnostic Technician specialized in complex electrical troubleshooting, network fault diagnostics, and ECU programming for premium and luxury vehicles. This role demands precise root-cause identification utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to avoid misdiagnoses and unnecessary component replacements.
Key Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle systems diagnostics using authorized brand-specific and cross-brand scanning tools like BMW ISTA, Mercedes Xentry, VAG ODIS, Autel MaxiSYS, and Launch Euro Tab.
- Trace and diagnose electrical faults including short circuits, parasitic battery drains, sensor failures involving 5V references and ground loops, and relay malfunctions with instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Identify and resolve network communication issues on automotive communication buses such as CAN high/low lines, LIN bus, and MOST networks.
- Carry out ECU coding, firmware flashing, module initializations, and calibration procedures including steering angle and key immobilizer adaptations.
- Create detailed diagnostic reports including fault analysis and exact part recommendations for service advisors prior to repair commencement.
- Verify fault clearance and vehicle functionality through post-repair scanning and road testing to ensure quality assurance.
Candidate Qualifications
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in a lead diagnostic role or as a senior electrical technician on German or luxury car brands such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Škoda, and Volvo.
- Proficiency with manufacturer-specific diagnostic software (e.g., ISTA, Xentry, ODIS) or advanced multi-brand diagnostic devices (Autel, Launch).
- Strong expertise in interpreting original equipment wiring diagrams, pinouts, and using diagnostic electrical tools like multimeters.
- Formal education in Automobile or Electrical Engineering via a diploma, or ITI certification as a Motor Mechanic or Electrician is preferred.
