Job description

Position Overview

We seek a dedicated engineer to join a top-tier automotive cybersecurity development team based in Shannon, Ireland. This is a full-time onsite contract lasting 12 months, anticipated to start in September 2026.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assemble and maintain specialized hardware and cybersecurity testing setups, including Hardware In the Loop (HiL) benches and rigs.
  • Conduct basic soldering, perform electronics repairs, and carry out necessary hardware alterations.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and network connectivity issues effectively.
  • Maintain laboratory test rigs and execute software updates or flashing on embedded electronic control units (ECUs).
  • Provide support for test engineering efforts, ensuring the test rigs operate dependably.
  • Develop and adhere to consistent maintenance procedures for both hardware and software components.
  • Capture CAN, CANOE, and Ethernet data logs from CAN and Ethernet-based ECUs.
  • Work closely with engineering teams following Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Practical experience assembling hardware, troubleshooting electronics, and hardware repair.
  • Fundamental understanding of Linux operating systems, including QNX, Android, and Linux distributions.
  • Basic familiarity with computer networking concepts such as TCP/IP and VLANs.
  • Experience with embedded systems or electronic control units is a plus.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with senior engineering staff.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and effective communication skills.
  • Important: Candidates must already hold valid work authorization for Ireland and be able to work full-time at the Shannon location.

Additional Details

This role requires physical presence onsite in Shannon and is scheduled as a one-year contract starting September 2026.
