About the Role
DARCARS Collision Centers of Prince George County is looking to add an Auto Body Shop Estimator to the team. In this position, you will assess customer vehicles, identify the extent of damage, and prepare repair estimates for either insurance-covered work or customer-paid repairs. The role also involves direct coordination with customers and insurance representatives to keep the repair experience smooth and professional.
Compensation is based on experience.

Key Duties
- Review vehicle damage to identify structural, body, mechanical, and interior issues
- Prepare estimates for parts, labor, and supplies needed for repair
- Work out customer responsibility amounts, including deductibles
- Support claim handling by collecting insurance estimates and discussing them with adjusters
- Communicate estimate details and vehicle return timelines clearly to customers
- Help maintain repair quality and reduce repeat visits for the same issue
- Perform spot inspections on completed jobs to confirm quality and completeness
- Match approved estimates to final invoices and complete reconciliation
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 3 years of prior experience as an automotive estimator
- Working knowledge of major insurance program procedures, including the ability to upload compliant estimates and images
- Previous estimator experience is strongly preferred
- Prior I-CAR or similar industry training is preferred
- Automotive certifications are an advantage
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to complete pre-employment background screening
