Job description
Role overview
This position is focused on quality assurance and fraud analysis for biometric authentication systems. The role involves testing, analyzing, and validating biometric workflows, devices, and related applications, with a strong emphasis on security, standards compliance, and defect prevention.
Experience needed
Applicants should bring at least 6 years of overall experience, including more than 2 years in application testing or QA analysis. Prior exposure to biometric-domain testing is required.
Technical and analytical expectations
The role calls for practical knowledge of biometric system testing, familiarity with biometric algorithms and end-to-end workflows, and hands-on work with biometric hardware and SDKs. Candidates should be comfortable examining biometric data, performance indicators, and fraud patterns, while also understanding security, privacy, and data protection practices.
Strong working knowledge of testing tools and processes is expected, including JIRA, ALM, TestRail, defect tracking, STLC, and test management. Experience with Java, Python, Selenium, API testing tools such as Postman or comparable technologies, as well as CI/CD practices, is also important.
Testing responsibilities
The selected candidate will validate fingerprint, face, iris, and voice-based biometric systems. This includes designing and running test cases for enrollment, authentication, and verification flows, as well as performing functional, regression, interoperability, and performance testing.
The role also covers hardware and SDK validation, anti-spoofing checks, liveness and presentation attack detection testing, and assessment of system behavior under varied real-world conditions such as different lighting, noise levels, angles, and skin conditions. The position requires analysis of FAR, FRR, and EER metrics and review of business and technical requirements to build appropriate test scenarios.
Automation and delivery
Where applicable, the role includes building and maintaining automated test scripts, running automation suites, reviewing results, and working with developers to include testing in CI/CD pipelines.
Fraud analysis and documentation
In addition to testing, the role involves identifying biometric fraud patterns, investigating application loopholes, and preparing detailed fraud analysis reports, test plans, and execution reports.
The person in this role will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business teams, and will actively participate in Agile practices such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Preferred knowledge and certifications
Useful additions include training or certification in biometric security and testing, such as Certified Biometrics Professional, ISO/IEC 30107 training, AI/ML or data annotation certifications, and fraud-related credentials like CFE or CFCS. Experience in government ID programs, fintech, banking, or access control environments will be an advantage.
Standards and compliance
The work requires awareness of biometric standards and protocols, including ISO/IEC 19794, NIST, UIDAI, FIDO, and related compliance requirements.
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to candidates with a B.Tech or B.E. in any specialization.
Location
The role is based in Bengaluru, India.
Compensation
The offered salary range is INR 13,00,000 to INR 23,00,000 per year.
