Australian English Language Expert - Remote

Role overview

This contract role is focused on improving AI language systems by supplying accurate, high-quality Australian English input. You will work with transcribed text and recorded speech to help models learn authentic language use. Prior AI experience is not necessary; strong Australian English expertise is the key requirement.

What you'll do

• Check machine-produced English transcripts and make corrections to improve accuracy and language quality.
• Read supplied transcribed passages aloud in a natural, clear Australian English accent.
• Work from a quiet setting so the audio you record is clean, even without professional recording gear.
• Help refine AI language data so it better reflects how Australian English is actually spoken and written.
• Share feedback with the client team on transcription quality and audio-related instructions.
• Carefully review text and recordings for mistakes, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
• Follow confidentiality rules and data security practices throughout the assignment.

What we're looking for

• Native-level command of Australian English in both written and spoken communication.
• Strong grasp of Australian pronunciation, diction, and phonetics.
• Ability to quickly identify and correct transcript errors.
• Clear speaking voice and confident audio delivery.
• Self-directed work style and the ability to perform in a quiet, distraction-free space.
• High attention to detail and a strong focus on language quality.
• Comfort using basic laptop audio recording tools; a professional studio is not required.

Preferred background

• Experience in audio engineering, voice work, voice acting, or call-centre roles involving voice training.
• Previous exposure to transcription, annotation, or language data tasks.
• Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and precision.
