Job description
Role purpose
This role is responsible for making audit-related decisions and escalating matters outside the audit process to Bureau Veritas Certification when needed. The position also operates in accordance with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.
Key responsibilities
- Organize, carry out, and complete audit as well as training assignments.
- Make recommendations based on audit findings.
- Determine the client’s compliance level using verified performance results.
- Decide whether an audit can continue depending on HSE conditions at the site.
- Accept accountability for any violation of HSE instructions or requirements from the client or office.
- Oversee on-site audit activity, including planning, review, and coordination of other audit team members.
- Lead Bureau Veritas Certification audits and make decisions during audits as required for initial certification, continued certification, or recertification recommendations.
- Keep regular work-related communication with clients.
- Understand client expectations and work toward successful project delivery.
- Build trust and maintain clear, open communication with clients.
Performance measures
- Audit plans are sent within the required timeline.
- Audit reports are submitted on time.
- Non-conformities are identified with the right quality and quantity.
- Rejections from ICC are minimized.
Qualifications and experience
- A graduate degree with at least 5 years of experience is required; post-graduation or graduation/post-graduation will be an added advantage.
- Experience in core sectors such as Oil & Gas and Power is required.
Skills and knowledge
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Lead Auditor course certification in the relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of management systems.
- Understanding of audit preparation steps, including BMS and local rules where applicable for the certification scheme.
- Familiarity with accreditation requirements.
- Working knowledge of Bureau Veritas audit methodology.
- Awareness of local statutory requirements.
