Audit Planning & Risk Coverage Expert (Director/Analyst) - Fully Remote UK/Ireland

About the Role

Join Gartner's dynamic Assurance Practice as a Director Analyst specializing in audit planning and risk coverage. In this fully remote role based in the UK or Ireland, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Chief Audit Executives and their teams, delivering insightful analysis and recommendations in areas including risk assessment, risk trends, aligned assurance, and IT audit.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of innovative, compelling insights and thought leadership content focused on audit planning and risk assessment.
• Analyze complex client challenges to identify root causes and develop strategies that propel client success in internal audit functions.
• Engage clients through virtual and in-person interactions, delivering actionable advice and high-value presentations.
• Collaborate with Gartner colleagues to shape research agendas and contribute to internal insight discussions.
• Support sales and business insights teams by providing market expertise and helping craft client-focused content.
• Ensure quality and timeliness of peer-reviewed content and promote continuous research process improvements.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative environment.
• Maintain client-centric engagement to facilitate frequent interaction with Gartner insights.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with over 10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent educational and professional background.
• Proven internal audit experience; IT audit knowledge preferred.
• Strong understanding of the Chief Audit Executive role and internal audit leadership, including familiarity with audit management software.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing innovative internal risk assessment and audit planning processes utilizing technology.
• Experience working across risk and control functions to enhance audit coverage and coordination.
• Capability to devise audit strategies addressing new and emerging risks.
• Executive presence with the ability to establish credibility at all organizational levels.
• Exceptional organizational, research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize data effectively, applying frameworks to solve client challenges.
• Excellent communication skills; adept at simplifying complex topics for various audiences.
• Subject matter expertise suitable for both large and small speaking engagements.
• Strong business and financial acumen with deep knowledge of the market landscape.
• Self-motivated and able to collaborate within multicultural and matrixed teams.
• Learning agility and comfort navigating complex environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% as required.
