Job description

Role Overview

The AV Commissioning Engineer will take ownership of preparing, configuring, validating, and handing over audio-visual systems across different project environments. The role focuses on making sure every solution is aligned with project specifications and delivered to client expectations.

Core Duties

  • Set up and commission integrated AV systems covering audio, video, lighting, and control platforms so all elements work together reliably.
  • Carry out testing, diagnose issues, and resolve faults to keep installations operating at a high standard.
  • Fine-tune audio and video devices such as speakers, microphones, screens, projectors, and cameras to achieve the best possible output quality.
  • Work closely with design teams, programming specialists, and project managers to support efficient delivery and system refinement.
  • Record commissioning activities, including configuration details, testing outcomes, and any changes made during setup.
  • Train customers and end users on how to operate and maintain the installed systems.
  • Connect AV control systems and adjust touch panels and control software to improve the user experience.
  • Ensure solutions comply with relevant standards and protocols such as HDMI, HDBaseT, Dante, and AES67.
  • Conduct on-site validation of large-format displays, LED walls, projection setups, and video wall systems.

Technical Profile

Strong practical understanding of AV hardware, connectivity standards, networking concepts, and control programming is essential. The job also calls for hands-on knowledge of amplifiers, DSPs, display technologies, projection equipment, signal routing, and AV-related software.

Experience using calibration tools and measurement instruments is important, along with strong communication, troubleshooting ability, and close attention to detail. The position may require independent work as well as coordination with teams while being based on project sites.

Preferred Background

Exposure to platforms and ecosystems such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom will be considered an advantage. A qualification in electrical engineering, electronics, AV technology, or computer science is preferred, along with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, ideally with a systems integrator. Professional certifications such as CTS are desirable.
