Job description
Role overview
The Purbeck School is seeking an organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join its Pastoral Support Team. This position plays an important part in helping students achieve their full potential by supporting strong, consistent school attendance.
Key purpose of the role
You will act as a link between families, the school and external agencies, helping to ensure students remain engaged in education. The role involves keeping attendance records up to date, reviewing absence reasons, and flagging patterns of non-attendance that need additional attention.
What you will be doing
Working with a range of stakeholders, you will use initiative and self-motivation to support improvements in attendance and punctuality. Your work will contribute directly to the school’s wider achievement goals and attendance targets.
Working pattern and contract
This is a permanent position for 30 hours per week. The post is term-time only, plus one inset day.
Actual salary: £18,324 to £20,179 per annum, pro-rated, Grade 7, subject to a pending pay award.
Start date: 1 September 2026.
