Ellowes Hall Sports College is described as a vibrant, inclusive school with a strong focus on helping every student reach their full potential.
Role Overview
The school is looking for a well-organised, motivated, and committed Attendance Officer to strengthen attendance and punctuality across the pupil body. In this position, you will work alongside students, families, and colleagues to maintain strong attendance levels and remove barriers that affect learning.
What You Will Do
- Track attendance each day and spot trends or repeated absence patterns.
- Contact parents or carers to address absences and lateness.
- Prepare attendance summaries and work with senior staff on any concerns.
- Help put attendance improvement support into action.
- Work with outside agencies where this is needed.
What the School Is Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring excellent communication and people skills, a careful and orderly approach, and confidence working with data systems and Microsoft Office. You should be able to show initiative, stay resilient in sensitive situations, and handle information with care. Experience in a school or a similar environment is helpful, though it is not required.
Why Apply
