ATM Custodian

Overview

IZI South Africa PTY Ltd, a prominent integrated cash management solutions provider, is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented ATM Custodian to join their team in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Candidates must be South African citizens with strong numerical aptitude and a dedication to safety and operational excellence.

Role Objectives

The ATM Custodian's core responsibility is to guarantee the continuous availability and functionality of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) for customers. This includes managing ATM cash custody and reconciliation, processing deposits, handling ATM reports, and mitigating associated risks through diligent control measures while maintaining the utmost integrity and professionalism.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain adequate cash and stationery stock levels at ATM terminals.
• Communicate effectively with the control center to swiftly resolve any equipment-related issues.
• Detect and address potential equipment faults proactively to prevent malfunctions.
• Conduct ATM cash replenishment in full compliance with prescribed protocols; ensure ATM cash bags or canisters are securely sealed.
• Balance ATM cash regularly, including top-ups, and record processes accurately within ATM systems.
• Retain slips for each replenishment and report any service interruptions immediately.
• Safeguard cash at all times to eliminate avoidable losses.
• Accurately clear deposited cash promptly and refer any unusual deposits to the Branch Security Officer or appropriate authority without delay.
• Ensure timely dispatch of deposits to the Bank or G4S Cash Centre.
• Handle ATM reports per duty lists quickly and according to established procedures.
• Control and submit ATM slips to the cash center responsibly.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations on the same day following defined processes.
• Adhere to Firearm and Ammunition Control instructions; report firearm repairs through designated personnel and participate in mandatory annual firearm training.
• Ensure company firearms remain in good operational order at all times.
• Support the development, implementation, and review of safety plans at branch, regional, and national levels.
• Participate actively in safety forums, meetings, and discussions, including incident reporting and follow-up actions.
• Comply fully with all workplace safety policies and participate in safety training and refresher sessions.
• Disseminate safety information across relevant teams when required.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Completed Matric certificate including Mathematics.
• At least two years of prior experience in ATM operation and maintenance.
• Certification in an ATM Custodian course.
• Certificate of Competence.
• Proficient computer literacy skills.
• Previous experience as a teller is considered an advantage.
