Athletics Maintenance Custodian

Role Overview

The Athletics Maintenance Custodian is responsible for helping keep the school’s facilities in dependable operating condition so students and staff can fully use the campus for educational activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry out assigned duties effectively and with confidence.
• Having a valid Mississippi driver’s license is preferred.

Reporting Structure

This position has no direct reports. The role reports to the Building Principal or a designated representative.

Key Duties

• Maintain clean and orderly buildings and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas.
• Sweep classrooms every day and dust furniture as well as window ledges.
• Clean hallways after school and during the day whenever needed.
• Scrub and rinse floors, disinfect restroom floors, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• Wash interior and exterior windows and other glass surfaces on a regular basis.
• Keep outdoor areas free from litter.
• Carry out general tasks needed to keep school grounds safe and visually appealing.
• Care for and safeguard tools and equipment.
• Comply with safety codes and regulations.
• Maintain dependable, punctual, and regular attendance.
• Support the Hattiesburg Public School District mission, vision, and strategic plan.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment

Compensation and the work year will be set by the Board of Trustees.

Evaluation

Performance will be reviewed annually.
