Role Overview
The organisation is seeking an Assortment Planning Manager to shape and optimise product assortments across two key categories: frames and sunglasses. The role focuses on store-level product mix planning for 50 stores in the West-Karnataka Zone, using sales and demand data to make sure the right products reach the right locations at the right time.
The position covers luxury, premium, and lifestyle portfolios across global and domestic brands, and requires close coordination with buying cycles, store segmentation, inventory movement, and team execution.
Portfolio Coverage
- Luxury brands: Cartier, Chanel, Maybach
- Premium brands: Tom Ford, Prada, Gucci, Lindberg
- Lifestyle international brands: Tommy Hilfiger, Ray-Ban, Police
- Lifestyle brands: Scott, Idee, Opium
Key Responsibilities
- Study historical sales, demand patterns, and store-level inventory data to predict future trends and uncover growth opportunities.
- Review and improve the showroom segmentation framework, then oversee its rollout across the network.
- Define stock targets for stores to improve inventory turnover, avoid shortages on fast-moving products, and reduce slow-moving stock.
- Create assortment guidelines for luxury, premium, and lifestyle buying cycles based on the profile of each showroom.
- Track supplier collection calendars and align purchasing plans so new launches arrive on schedule and bestsellers are replenished without delay.
- Guide tactical assortment activities such as core replenishment, store-wise quantity allocation, and brand display readiness.
- Write, communicate, and maintain SOPs for ordering workflows and related logistics.
- Establish data-entry standards and product-tracking parameters, then audit compliance to keep records accurate.
- Approve major stock transfers, returns, and ageing-stock liquidation actions across the store network.
- Set daily and weekly goals for team members, monitor progress, and ensure accountability.
- Hold periodic reviews to assess workload, track project status, and redirect effort when timelines slip.
- Conduct documented performance reviews and feedback sessions for team development.
- Independently identify operational issues, diagnose process gaps, and build practical solutions before escalating when needed.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in managing direct reports and driving disciplined execution.
- Solid analytical ability with comfort working through data to support inventory and allocation decisions.
- Highly structured, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving retail environment.
- Interest in fashion, premium lifestyle products, and the commercial side of assortment planning.
- Prior experience in the optical industry is not necessary; leadership ability, independent problem-solving, and inventory planning strength matter most.
Eligibility
Applicants should hold a B.Com in any specialization, a B.B.A./B.M.S. with supply chain management or retail management, or another graduate degree.
Location
Mumbai, India.
Compensation
The offered pay is INR 1,00,000 to 1,25,000 per month.
