Job description
Role overview
This position is for a highly driven markets professional who wants to take on a broad, client-facing trading role. From the outset, the associate will contribute to business profitability by trading pan-Asian equities, swaps, forwards, and FX, with a strong focus on identifying market inefficiencies and building solutions for institutional clients.
Team and business impact
The Synthetic Products Group works with institutional customers such as corporations, financial service providers, and fund managers. The team supports clients in trading financial products globally, raising capital, and managing risk. It operates in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where quick thinking and comfort with pressure are essential.
Key accountabilities
- Own risk oversight across franchise books, with particular emphasis on single-stock synthetics.
- Build a strong understanding of the sources of profitability and the actions that can improve returns.
- Partner with Strats, Technology, and Federation teams to strengthen pricing, execution, trade processing, risk controls, and book optimization.
- Develop working knowledge of local market rules and the legal framework that applies to the derivatives traded by the desk.
Experience and qualifications
The role is best suited to candidates with 2 to 3 years of trading experience, ideally in SPG or vol trading and risk management. A quantitative background is important, along with strong technical ability and Python coding skills. The team also values sharp analytical judgment, sound decision-making, close attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and organize large volumes of information quickly in a dynamic environment.
Preferred background
Experience in market making, structuring, risk management, or modeling derivative products will be an advantage. Knowledge of funding and interest rates is especially useful, and familiarity with options or the India market is preferred.
