Job description
Role overview
Activision is hiring an Associate Product Manager for Call of Duty live services in Santa Monica, CA. The position supports player engagement initiatives that keep the franchise compelling throughout the year, with a strong focus on sustainable growth, day-to-day business performance, and representing the player voice inside the organization.
This is an onsite position based in the Santa Monica office, with an in-office expectation of four days each week. The company notes that work arrangements may be adjusted at its discretion depending on business needs.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and execute engagement plans for Call of Duty, including weekly playlists, in-game updates, and live-service programming across the franchise.
- Work with senior product leaders and analytics partners to define KPIs, support dashboard and data-visualization needs, and help structure A/B tests and priority decisions.
- Track the results of live-service campaigns and promotions, then produce post-launch reviews and recommendations to guide future planning.
- Build a strong understanding of the player journey and help create clear, accurate, conversion-friendly messaging across player-facing surfaces.
- Spot growth opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analysis and turn findings into strategic recommendations and practical solutions.
- Act as the internal advocate for players, keeping a fan-first perspective in live operations and post-launch decisions.
- Stay on top of market movement and competitor activity across publishers, titles, genres, and business models to shape strategy.
Experience and qualifications
The role calls for 3-6+ years of experience in product management, finance, consulting, or a related area, ideally within gaming, entertainment, technology, or digital consumer products. Candidates with fewer years may still be considered if they can show strong analytical ability, impact, and problem-solving skills.
Applicants should be comfortable with data analysis, UX/UI concepts, game systems design, and A/B testing. The job also requires the ability to combine analytical thinking with creative problem solving while staying focused on the player experience.
Strong interest in games and familiarity with current gaming systems and industry trends are important. The company is looking for someone who works well in teams, communicates clearly, collaborates across functions, and can handle multiple disciplines.
Additional strengths include solid verbal and written communication, experience creating PowerPoint presentations, working knowledge of Excel, a self-starting approach, good time management, and the ability to juggle several projects at once. Strong storytelling and presentation-building skills are also expected.
A bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a similar field is required.
Company context
Activision describes itself as a creator of major gaming and entertainment franchises, including Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and Guitar Hero. The organization emphasizes delivering fun, innovative, and inclusive experiences for players worldwide and encourages applicants from underrepresented groups to apply even if they do not meet every listed qualification.
Benefits and rewards
Subject to eligibility, the company offers a broad benefits package covering medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and reimbursement accounts; healthcare and dependent care spending accounts; life and AD&D insurance; disability coverage; a 401(k) with company match; tuition reimbursement; and charitable donation matching.
Time-off and leave benefits include paid holidays, vacation, sick time, floating holidays, compassion and bereavement leave, and parental leave. Additional wellbeing support may include mental health programs, fitness programs, free and discounted games, and optional benefits such as supplemental life and disability insurance, legal services, ID protection, and rental insurance.
