Role Overview
As an Associate Producer, you will be pivotal in managing all aspects of recording sessions. Your responsibilities include preparing the studio, setting up hosts and guests, recording clean audio and video content, and ensuring each session progresses seamlessly and punctually. This role requires close collaboration with producers, editors, and social media coordinators to ensure high-quality raw material handovers and smooth episode production. Ideal candidates enjoy the dynamic environment of recording days and wish to grow within an ambitious, detail-focused independent media team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete recording sessions, including studio setup, equipment testing, audio and video capture, and on-the-spot troubleshooting to prevent disruptions.
- Prepare the studio environment and organize the flow of each recording to help hosts and guests concentrate on the content.
- Coordinate guest scheduling, confirmations, arrivals, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
- Deliver organized, high-quality audio and video files along with clear notes to editors to facilitate smooth post-production.
- Identify and highlight notable moments during recordings for social media clipping and share them with the social media team.
- Maintain an organized recording calendar and communicate session schedules effectively with producers and team members.
- Support studio upkeep, including maintaining equipment, backing up files, and preparing the space for future sessions.
Qualifications
- Experience in audio or video production through podcasts, shows, live events, student media projects, or personal initiatives.
- Familiarity or eagerness to master recording equipment and studio setups.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail to manage multiple recording sessions and organize related files.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain a calm and comfortable environment for hosts and guests.
- Dependable team player with clear communication skills and a commitment to follow-through.
Preferred but Not Required
- Interest or curiosity about finance, markets, or business topics.
- Basic skills in video editing or creating social media clips.
- Knowledge of podcast hosting platforms (e.g., Megaphone) and episode metadata management.
