Job description
Role Overview
This position, based in Hyderabad with hybrid work mode (3 days onsite), involves supporting CLO funds of a global asset manager targeting the UK and US markets. The Associate Manager in Credit Research conducts in-depth due diligence on industries and companies, evaluates investment opportunities in leveraged loans, and provides detailed investment recommendations. Collaboration with clients to create investment memorandums and credit analysis is a core aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess potential investments.
- Evaluate primary and secondary deals by preparing comprehensive investment proposals covering company and industry overviews, credit risks, mitigants, and investment rationale.
- Develop detailed financial models including historical data, projections with revenue and cost drivers, capital structure assessments, potential deleveraging via forecasted cash flows, distressed scenario and recovery analyses, as well as yield and relative value computations.
- Analyze term sheets, understand covenants, manage special situations like waivers and amendments, and summarize indentures and senior facility agreements.
- Present investment opportunities to committees comprising research analysts, portfolio managers, and risk officers.
- Monitor existing portfolios by reviewing quarterly financials, preparing flash reports, updating financial models, tracking amendments and waivers, and assessing significant industry developments.
- Engage in active portfolio management, recommending adjustments in exposure, switch strategies, and entry/exit points.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- MBA or equivalent qualification in Finance; CFA or CA credentials preferred.
- At least 4.5 years of experience in a financial services or relevant outsourcing role.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Strong quantitative aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
- Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Capable of independent thinking and possess good organizational capabilities.
- Experience with databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Thomson Reuters, syndication websites, or others.
