Overview
The Regulatory and Risk Advisory (RRA) team within the Middle East region specializes in delivering treasury advisory services to corporate clients. This encompasses leadership in transformation initiatives, development and execution of treasury strategies and policies, refining target operating models, managing cash and liquidity, formulating hedging strategies, and overseeing treasury systems selection and deployment.
Role Summary
In the role of Associate Director, you will take a central leadership position driving strategy formulation, guiding client transformation projects, and ensuring their effective implementation. You will be responsible for directing client engagements, managing diverse teams, overseeing significant programs, fostering innovation, and cultivating enduring client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion the expansion and strategic growth of the corporate treasury practice by enhancing capabilities, innovating solutions, and increasing revenue.
- Serve as a strategic consultant to CFOs and Group Treasurers, influencing critical investment choices and guiding enterprise-wide treasury transformation efforts.
- Lead revenue generation activities by managing client pursuit efforts, crafting proposals, and converting opportunities into contracted engagements.
- Drive market outreach initiatives, develop service offerings, and contribute to thought leadership to elevate the firm's presence in the corporate treasury sector.
- Anticipate and integrate emerging trends, regulatory changes, and market innovations to provide strategic insights and differentiated solutions to clients.
- Supervise complex client assignments, ensuring top-quality delivery, sound risk management, and alignment with strategic business goals.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive technical expertise in corporate treasury and a proven record of strategic shaping, project management, and team leadership in high-impact assignments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Deep understanding of corporate treasury mechanisms including In-House Banks, Payment Factories, POBO/COBO models, cash pooling, liquidity forecasting, foreign exchange operations, and bank connectivity.
- Proven experience in leading treasury transformation projects such as target operating model design, cash management optimization, in-house banking, payment factory implementation, liquidity forecasting, banking strategy, or treasury management system implementations.
- Strong technical knowledge of treasury management systems with hands-on experience in system selection and implementations (e.g., KYRIBA, FIS, SAP Hana, GTreasury).
- Competence in financial modeling and financial risk management techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of treasury product pricing and accounting practices.
- Demonstrated resilience in guiding teams and delivering results under complex and challenging conditions.
- Expertise in translating client business needs into actionable, commercially viable proposals.
- Strong commercial insight with business development skills including managing RFPs and client relationships.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with substantial client interaction experience.
- Integrity and strong ethical standards with leadership by example.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in corporate treasury or advisory within a top-tier financial institution or consulting firm.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, or CFA.
- Advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis capabilities.
- Familiarity with treasury and analytical systems including Kyriba, FIS, SAP HANA, GTreasury, ION.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic or another regional language is an advantage.
