Role Overview

The Associate Director Commercial Finance and Planning for Emerging Markets plays a pivotal role in partnering with the business to realize financial targets across diverse and complex regions, markets, and channels. This includes delivering insightful, data-driven analysis to guide strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement strategies to meet the financial goals of the Emerging Markets unit.
  • Critically evaluate investment decisions involving customers and brand initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with sales teams, external distributors, and customers to promote top-line revenue growth.
  • Lead a commercial finance team to cultivate a value-driven analytical culture and meaningful stakeholder partnerships.
  • Coordinate across Sales, Marketing, and Supply teams to maintain an integrated perspective on performance and potential challenges.
  • Optimize resource allocation across Sales, Marketing, and Demand Planning to maximize returns.
  • Establish and promote a fact-based return on investment mindset within the business unit.
  • Manage comprehensive budgeting and forecasting activities jointly with Commercial Strategy and FP&A teams, including overseeing Integrated Business Planning and risk/opportunity management.
  • Ensure all financial assumptions are evidence-based and aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Lead budget cycles and ensure deadlines and quality standards are achieved with stakeholder consensus.
  • Develop long-term financial plans, including Global Volume Projections and Five-Year Plans, aligned with business goals.
  • Deliver timely and detailed financial performance insights for customers, channels, and brands, communicating key drivers clearly during monthly reviews.
  • Champion adherence to TWE policies, controls, and processes, ensuring consistent and effective implementation.
  • Supervise the demand planning team responsible for stock allocation across Emerging Markets.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses and project work as required.
  • Coach team members, foster their development, and create growth opportunities.

Candidate Profile

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
  • Professional membership such as CA or CPA.
  • Over 10 years’ experience in senior finance roles.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent skills in analysis, strategic thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Strong planning and project management capabilities.
  • Exceptional relationship building and communication talents.
  • Positive, solution-focused approach with a proactive 'Can Do' attitude.
  • Change agent, committed to enhancing profitability continuously.
  • Detail-oriented with solid commercial acumen.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, driven by achievement and performance.
  • Experienced leader capable of managing high-performing teams.
