Job description
About Anduril
Anduril Industries builds defense technology aimed at modernizing military capability for the United States and allied forces. The company combines advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking to deliver systems faster and in a more software-driven way than traditional defense development. Its platform, Lattice OS, integrates large volumes of data into a real-time 3D command-and-control environment.
About the Team
The Middle East organization supports regional customers with advanced platforms, software-led systems, and integrated effects from the broader Anduril portfolio. Saudi Arabia is the main growth focus, and the team adapts core hardware and software offerings to local defense and national security priorities across the Kingdom and the wider GCC. In Riyadh, the business development function acts as the link between Saudi stakeholders and Anduril’s global teams, translating local operational needs into product and engineering input while representing the brand in-market.
Role Overview
Anduril is hiring an Associate Director, Business Development in Riyadh to identify, develop, and win opportunities that expand revenue across Saudi Arabia and the surrounding region. The role sits at the intersection of Saudi defense customers and Anduril’s product organization, turning operational requirements into actionable pipeline input and helping ensure the company’s autonomous systems align with national security needs. Strong local knowledge, cultural fluency, and familiarity with Saudi procurement are essential, along with the ability to support defense localization priorities tied to Saudi Vision 2030.
Core Responsibilities
- Build new business across Saudi Arabia through direct outreach, travel within the Kingdom, participation in major defense events such as the World Defense Show, and management of KSA budget timing and approval steps.
- Develop and execute capture plans that define acquisition routes, align with Saudi investment goals, and move opportunities toward programs of record.
- Work closely with key stakeholders such as GAMI and SAMI to shape requirements, support funding alignment, and build localized industrial and supplier strategies for competitive pursuits.
- Help move products into operational use by supporting pilots, field evaluations, and collaborative R&D, especially in UAS, counter-UAS, and border security applications.
- Bring Saudi operational challenges back to engineering and product teams so the technology continues to fit desert and maritime conditions in the region.
- Expand relationships with existing Saudi customers and partners, including joint venture and local execution teams, to grow current contracts and introduce new capabilities.
- Present Anduril’s value proposition clearly to government stakeholders, industrial partners, and other regional audiences, emphasizing speed, software-first execution, and localized technology transfer.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in business development, military operations, or strategic sales involving direct contact with Saudi government decision-makers such as MoD, MNG, MoI, or security forces.
- Strong working knowledge of GAMI rules, localization requirements, and Saudi procurement procedures.
- Background in commercial or defense capture and sales in the Kingdom, with a record of building and winning defense business under Saudi Vision 2030.
- Prior operational or acquisition experience in Saudi Arabia, plus an understanding of the country’s strategic security priorities and threat environment.
- Comfort working in a high-ownership, less-defined environment and a willingness to do what it takes to deliver results.
- Ability to produce strong work in ambiguous settings while maintaining professionalism, interpersonal effectiveness, and the presence needed for senior Saudi defense engagements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief senior military and executive audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Ability to travel 50% to 75%, mostly within Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, with occasional trips to U.S. headquarters.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active security clearance from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, or New Zealand.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading capture activity involving SAMI or other local Saudi defense-industrial partners.
- Exposure to Foreign Military Sales, Direct Commercial Sales, Saudi direct commercial procurement, ITAR, licensing, and releasability processes.
- Understanding of Saudi defense modernization efforts and a track record of starting and scaling new programs in the Middle East.
- High-energy, accountable, and emotionally intelligent leadership style suited to a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to adapt global technologies to local market needs.
- Based in Riyadh or willing to relocate there permanently.
- Current ability to hold an active security clearance from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, or New Zealand.
- Strong bilingual communication skills in both Arabic and English, spoken and written.
