Role overview

The Associate Buyer for Women’s RTW (Multibrand) supports business growth and profitability by handling merchandise purchasing, commercial analysis, stock oversight, and supplier relationships. Based at the Williamsburg headquarters in Brooklyn, this full-time role also contributes to assortment planning, purchase order administration, market appointments, and timely in-season actions that support sales and inventory targets. The position works closely with vendors and internal teams to help launch products, train store teams, and strengthen omnichannel growth, including the brand’s digital and social visibility. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, advanced Excel capability, and a solid grasp of the retail landscape.

Core responsibilities

  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly performance trends and turn the findings into practical actions that improve sales and profitability.
  • Keep track of inventory, SKU productivity, and seasonal results to support sell-through and maintain balanced stock levels.
  • Work with stores and vendors on in-season moves such as transfers, reorders, and inventory exchanges when business opportunities arise.
  • Monitor incoming merchandise receipts and help manage product flow to align with business goals.
  • Assist with assortment planning and buying activities for Women’s Multibrand RTW.
  • Prepare for market appointments, attend them, and support product selection, order writing, and assortment reviews.
  • Enter purchase orders, create styles, and complete related administrative buying tasks.
  • Develop productive vendor partnerships that support exclusives, in-store events, team training, and sales-driving initiatives.
  • Coordinate weekly product photography and website launches while ensuring accuracy and strong brand presentation.
  • Partner with digital and marketing teams to grow online sales through product drops, email marketing, and social media activity.
  • Help identify products and brands for digital features, newsletters, and social campaigns.
  • Contribute to initiatives that increase online engagement and build the Women’s RTW digital presence.
  • Create and share product knowledge materials for store teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate important details about seasonal deliveries, new brand introductions, and vendor-supported selling programs.
  • Collaborate across Logistics, Accounts Payable, Store Leadership, Marketing, and E-commerce to ensure smooth execution.
  • Track the competitive market and broader retail landscape to spot new brands, trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Offer insights that strengthen assortment strategy and keep the assortment relevant to the customer.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in buying, merchandising, planning, or a similar retail function.
  • Strong knowledge of retail math, inventory management, and business analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and project management abilities.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial retail setting.
  • Working knowledge of the luxury fashion market and current industry trends.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to communicate well and build relationships across teams and vendors.
  • Skilled at handling several priorities at once.
  • Passion for fashion and luxury retail.
  • Trend-aware, customer-focused, self-driven, results-oriented, collaborative, and proactive.

Additional information

This is a fully on-site role based at HQ in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Compensation is $75,000 to $80,000 per year.
