Role overview
Google is hiring an Associate Business Development Lead for the Google Play Partnerships team. This role is based in Los Angeles, CA, with the possibility of working from the Playa Vista, CA campus as well. You will be part of the Global Partnerships organization, helping build and scale strategic partner relationships that support Google’s products and business growth.
In this position, you will act as the operational lead behind key alliance partnerships, supporting day-to-day execution that helps developers succeed and keeps partner programs running smoothly. The role is also designed to build deep experience in the Android and Google Play ecosystem while working closely with Business Development Managers and cross-functional teams.

Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 2 years of experience if paired with an advanced degree.
- Background in managing agreements or external partnerships.
Preferred qualifications
- An MBA or master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or a similar function.
- Experience handling external partners at scale rather than through highly customized support, collaborating across internal teams, and working with legal teams on agreements.
- Experience in globally scaled environments with operational planning and management responsibilities.
- Strong ability to summarize complex operational topics clearly and with close attention to detail.
What you will do
In this role, you will lead strategic partner development work for major mobile app developers and collaborate with executive partner managers to support business goals and resolve partner challenges. You will also handle operational problems across areas such as policy, console processes, and Android/Play troubleshooting to help drive partner outcomes.
You will partner closely with internal teams including developer relations, policy, go-to-market, and legal to advance initiatives that align with Play objectives. In addition, you will help build partner benchmarking and growth recommendations using internal tools, shaping persuasive narratives that encourage developers to adopt Google Play solutions and support agreement-related outcomes.
You will also contribute to process and policy improvements that help Google work with partners at scale, including strengthening escalation paths, discussing promotional opportunities, and supporting developer feature requests.
Compensation and benefits
The expected pay range in the US is $112,000 to $162,000 annually, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits. Final pay is influenced by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Benefits information is available through Google’s benefits resources.
