Role overview
Marina Bay Sands is looking for an Associate Analyst/Analyst in Revenue Management to support hotel revenue optimization efforts and help strengthen profitability across business segments.
In this role, you will work with the Senior Manager and Director of Revenue Management, as well as cross-functional teams across hotel, marketing, casino, convention, and sales functions, to drive occupancy, pricing, distribution, and recovery initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Senior Manager and Director of Revenue Management in running the Revenue Management team’s daily activities.
- Monitor occupancy and average daily rate on a daily basis for both near-term and longer-range periods, with the goal of improving profitability.
- Spot low-demand or distressed periods early and put recovery and contingency actions in place.
- Study the needs of different customer segments such as group, business travel, leisure/FIT, casino, wholesale, and internet channels, and coordinate with hotel and convention sales/operations teams to shape suitable strategies.
- Partner with hotel, marketing, casino, convention, and sales teams to roll out revenue recovery plans when needed.
- Help coach and develop analysts within the team.
- Contribute to planning and designing initiatives that attract and retain customers using short-term and long-term market analysis and hotel requirements.
- Use hotel operating systems effectively, including the property management system and sales and catering system.
- Oversee the efficiency of revenue management software.
- Support the growth of new room distribution channels that are cost-efficient.
- Improve room yield and value through availability control and upselling training.
- Collaborate with hotel, convention, and sales teams on revenue recovery campaigns such as FIT, casino, internet, and telemarketing initiatives.
- Prepare and interpret reports and statistical analysis to support revenue and profit improvement.
Education and experience
A degree in business, statistics, finance, hospitality management, or a similar analytical discipline is preferred.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Three years of experience in an analytical role is preferred, though relevant academic background may also be considered.
Skills and prerequisites
- Familiarity with hotel operations systems and revenue management tools is an advantage, but not essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and VBA programming.
- Genuine interest in revenue management and strong analytical thinking.
- Ability to reason logically and solve problems methodically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to executives and varied audiences.
- Strong presentation ability.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, busy, and occasionally stressful environment.
