Role overview
Join a manufacturing environment focused on creating medical technologies that improve patient outcomes worldwide. In this position, you will carry out detailed sewing work on tissue and non-tissue parts used in medical devices, following internal procedures and regulatory standards.
What you will do
- Operate sewing-related tools and equipment such as needles, scissors, forceps, specialist fixtures, microscopes, magnifying lamps, and MES while completing assigned assembly steps in rotation for stent and valve products.
- Check finished or in-process work against product specifications to confirm that each stage meets quality standards.
- Carry out tasks in line with approved work instructions and SOPs, including documenting traceability details on device history records and, where needed, entering data into JDE or other systems such as MES.
- Complete line clearance activities by cleaning and sanitising workstations at the start of shifts and whenever moving to the next work order.
- Inspect work visually under a microscope and review the work completed by fellow team members in sequence.
- Handle supporting duties such as housekeeping of the work area, sanitising with approved chemicals, material movement, and printing tasks.
Requirements
- Secondary education is required.
- Prior exposure to sewing, GMP, clean room environments, or medical device work is preferred.
- No prior related experience is necessary.
- Comfort using small hand tools with strong hand-eye coordination and fine manual dexterity.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Basic computer literacy is an advantage.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English is required.
- Strong teamwork ability and the capacity to work with minimal supervision while following detailed manufacturing instructions.
- Willingness to complete ongoing training on assembly process steps.
- High attention to detail.
- Compliance with company rules and all applicable health, safety, environmental, and pandemic-related requirements, including safe practices that protect people and the environment.
