Position Summary
The College of Health Sciences invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor role in the Department of Medical Imaging. Candidates should specialize in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Imaging, possessing strong expertise in Medical Imaging Physics and capability to teach imaging physics courses.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deliver, and assess a diverse array of Medical Imaging courses within the college
- Monitor and evaluate student academic progress
- Manage educational resources effectively
- Collaborate with industry partners and academic institutions
- Participate in advisory committees and oversee program-related projects
- Maintain accreditation documentation such as course portfolios
- Engage in ongoing instructional improvement initiatives
- Contribute actively to the university’s academic and community activities
Qualifications and Experience
- PhD or equivalent doctorate in Medical Imaging focusing on Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Imaging
- Master’s degree in Medical Imaging, Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Imaging, or Medical Imaging Physics with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 from accredited institutions recognized by UDST
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging or related specialization with similar academic standards
- Certification or eligibility for certification by a recognized professional body preferred
- At least three years of full-time academic experience post-PhD teaching Medical Imaging at the university level
- Proven clinical or professional practice in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Imaging
- Strong academic foundation and teaching proficiency in Medical Imaging Physics
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating academic curricula
- Proficiency in modern teaching methodologies across classroom, lab, simulation, and clinical environments
- Use of educational technologies and imaging platforms
- Preference for candidates with curriculum development, accreditation, and course coordination experience
Research & Scholarly Contributions
- Established record of relevant research with notable publications, funding, and collaborations
- Significant contributions to health knowledge advancement through applied research and dissemination
