Role Summary
This position is accountable for leading the Domain Support team and overseeing the maintenance and support of domain operations, including related processes and procedures, while ensuring service delivery meets budgeted cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Make sure the bank’s business areas are backed by reliable computer systems that comply with IT standards.
- Help define strategies, standards, and guidelines for hardware, software, and security across the enterprise domain network in line with Group Windows, server, and systems security policies.
- Introduce KPI tracking and best-practice methods for the AVP Domain Support function.
- Drive cost awareness, reduce waste, improve efficiency, and maximize value for the bank.
- Operate within the authority delegated for the role.
- Work closely with the Head of Technical Support and act as the link between the Domain team and internal customers.
- Support non-core servers and infrastructure applications such as Active Directory, Exchange, archiving, enterprise backup, ECC, and SharePoint, including upgrades, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Supervise administrators and consultants when required.
- Coordinate with Program Directors and the Management Team to design efficient workflows.
- Partner with Quality Assurance teams to prepare performance measurement reports for analysis.
- Help users with product-related queries and guide them toward suitable solutions.
- Maintain SLA commitments with internal departments and units to improve turnaround time.
- Build productive relationships across departments to support Group objectives.
- Provide accurate and timely information to auditors, compliance, financial control, and risk teams when requested.
- Standardize operational practices and procedures using best-practice methods.
- Define hardware and software solutions for division users.
- Install components, investigate issues, and diagnose and repair systems.
- Work with management to plan the growth of computer infrastructure.
- Prepare lifecycle procedures and maintenance guidelines for enterprise domain components.
- Document hardware, software, and setup issues using prescribed formats and ensure they are resolved quickly.
- Draft detailed requirements for enterprise user components within project constraints of time, budget, and resources.
- Support the development of strategies, standards, and guidelines for business continuity and contingency planning for the enterprise network.
- Assist with recruiting staff for the area of responsibility.
- Research new products and recommend suitable standards and solutions.
- Arrange backup coverage for critical tasks and assign staff during holidays or absences.
- Help select vendors and assign contracts in line with the Group’s purchasing policy.
- Take part in ad hoc assignments as required.
- Lead project progress meetings so work can be reviewed, discussed, and assigned.
- Work with Domain Administrators to roll out new hardware and applications.
- Administer servers across DC, DR, branches, and departmental environments.
- Help ensure the highest possible system uptime to support end-user productivity.
- Apply software patches and upgrades and respond to user requests.
- Diagnose server and operating system problems and carry out repairs or upgrades when needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance across domain computing equipment.
- Manage Microsoft Active Directory, including user account creation and internet email administration.
- Maintain readiness of disaster recovery arrangements for production infrastructure systems.
- Represent the site in the Disaster Recovery committee and take part in periodic DR tests.
- Administer domain services, Active Directory on servers, SQL servers, IIS servers, and terminal servers.
- Produce and maintain all required system documentation.
- Encourage team members to grow into leaders and support effective collaboration.
- Keep staff motivated for round-the-clock support through a help desk style environment.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts with cross-functional teams.
- Promote working methods that go beyond standard industry practice.
- Encourage creative thinking and recognize innovative ideas, including day-to-day improvements.

- Use strong technical knowledge to support enterprise network systems and understand network and systems architecture to resolve disruptions that may affect the Group.

- Fulfill responsibilities under the Three Lines of Defence model to identify, measure, monitor, manage, and report risks.
- Support conduct risk objectives and contribute to good client outcomes.
- Assist with RCSA, KRI, incident reporting, and remediation activities as required under operational risk management.
- Maintain the knowledge and competence required for the role and complete mandatory training.
- Attend mandatory internal and external seminars when instructed.
- Protect data confidentiality and ensure sensitive information is shared only on a need-to-know basis with approved senior management, audit, compliance, and regulators.
- Uphold high professional standards that protect QNB’s reputation and market leadership.
- Carry out other related tasks and activities assigned by management from time to time.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
- At least 10 years of experience in financial services, focused on systems network design, implementation, and maintenance.
