What the role involves
The Assistant Support Worker / Social Care Worker role is focused on delivering day-to-day care and support to service users, helping them progress toward their goals and live as independently and meaningfully as possible. The employer will provide support and development to help build skills and confidence in the role.
The role involves working as part of a team and maintaining respectful, professional relationships with colleagues and the people supported by the service.
Key duties
- Help each person follow their daily plan.
- Provide support in community-based activities and outings.
- Assist with learning, skill-building, and personal goal achievement.
- Support everyday living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, appointments, and family visits.
- Follow company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice as far as reasonably possible.
- Work on a rotating shift pattern across a 24/7 service.

Candidate profile
For the assistant support worker route, no formal qualification is required because full training will be provided. For the social care worker route, a Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Social Care, Healthcare, or a related subject is required, along with CORU registration.
Previous life experience is welcome but not essential. The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, a genuine interest in supporting people, and a full driving licence or be in the process of obtaining one.
