Job description
Overview
The role involves generating insurance business from assigned relationships and channel partners within a specific region or zone. The candidate must persuade these partners to encourage their customers to invest in Birla Sunlife Insurance. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive pre-sale and post-sale support both to partners and their clients with assistance from a dedicated team. The focus is not only on meeting targets but also ensuring consistent quarterly growth.
Context and Challenges
This position requires working closely with various relationship and channel partners, predominantly relying on the HDFC Branch Banking Model, which follows an open architecture. The key challenges include adapting to market fluctuations affecting unit-linked product sales, managing the priorities of bank partners, and balancing procedural requirements with partner expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage continuously with multiple branch heads and map all key decision makers to maintain aligned communication with regional and zonal heads.
- Actively participate in recognition and reward initiatives and devise innovative branch activities to enhance customer outreach.
- Ensure smooth execution of sales, issuance, and service processes by communicating any changes in procedures or regulations through training modules.
- Maintain strong relationship management at all levels to fulfill desired outcomes, staying well-versed in both insurance and banking product knowledge.
- Identify new business opportunities within the assigned area by collaborating with partners to improve database penetration, targeting 40% activation in front-line sales with specific case and ticket size goals.
- Ensure the product sales mix aligns with targets: 50% traditional, 40% ULIP, and 10% term insurance, and contribute insights for potential new products and sales strategies based on channel needs.
- Regularly review business quality, provide feedback to superiors, engage customers through welcome calls, and focus on achieving persistency targets by resolving customer queries promptly to ensure timely renewals.
Additional Details
The role demands a strategic balance between organizational processes and channel partner expectations while striving to maximize business growth and customer satisfaction consistently.
