Role overview

Grill’d is gearing up for a major year of expansion, with more restaurants opening, new locations across Australia, a larger drive-thru presence and a refreshed menu. With more than 21 years in business and 175+ restaurants already operating, the company is investing heavily in leadership growth and creating more opportunities for ambitious managers.

This position is ideal for an energetic leader who enjoys working in a people-focused environment that balances purpose with a fun, upbeat culture. As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will help create standout experiences for team members, guests and the wider community while building your own leadership career.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • 8 weeks of structured onboarding, including leadership workshops and practical, on-the-job training.
  • Clear progression pathways into Restaurant Manager, Area Manager, Support Office roles, or restaurant ownership through the Grill’d Partner or Joint Venture Program.
  • Uncapped monthly bonuses linked to sales performance.
  • Recognition and celebration programs, including Hall of Flame trips to Bali, London, Singapore or Cambodia, plus the G.O.A.T leadership conference.
  • A values-led workplace that prioritises authenticity and teamwork.
  • Community involvement through initiatives such as City Support Nights and Local Matters.
  • Flexible working arrangements to support life outside work.
  • Employee benefits such as free Grill’d burgers, wellbeing support through an EAP, and a Fun Fund for team experiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with the Restaurant Manager to lead, motivate and support the restaurant team.
  • Work across the grill and front of house to keep service running smoothly and customers satisfied.
  • Maintain strong standards for food quality, guest experience and overall restaurant presentation.
  • Drive team and business performance while celebrating successes together.
  • Coach team members across all stations so they can build skills and confidence.
  • Oversee safety, operational quality and day-to-day restaurant processes carefully.

Additional information

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for a phone interview. Grill’d values diversity across culture, sexual orientation and gender identity, and aims to provide an inclusive workplace that welcomes individual contributions.

Applicants must have full working rights in Australia and be able to pass a National Police Check.

What a great candidate looks like

You should bring strong energy, an interest in leading people, and the ability to stay hands-on during busy shifts. Experience in restaurant operations, team coaching and service quality would be especially valuable.
