Role Overview

This part-time, on-site Assistant Recruiter position is based in Oakland, CA and supports hiring for valet, hospitality, and operational roles. The role sits within Talent Acquisition and reports to the Regional Manager and the Recruiting Leadership Team. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The hourly rate is $25.00.

What the Role Involves

The Assistant Recruiter helps manage full-cycle recruiting for high-volume valet, hospitality, and operational hiring. The position works closely with operations leaders to understand staffing needs, source suitable candidates, arrange interviews, and support a smooth onboarding process.

Recruitment Responsibilities

  • Review applications and resumes for valet, hospitality, and operations openings.
  • Carry out first-round phone screens and in-person interviews to assess candidate fit.
  • Assist with reference checks and candidate evaluations.
  • Draft, post, and update job ads across multiple hiring channels.
  • Find and engage candidates using job boards, referrals, and recruiting tools.
  • Keep a healthy pipeline of candidates to support ongoing hiring demand.

Operations Partnership

  • Work with Operations Managers to understand staffing requirements and hiring priorities.
  • Track and manage requisition requests to keep hiring support moving on time.
  • Review job descriptions, role requirements, and expectations with stakeholders.
  • Schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Provide regular progress updates to hiring teams throughout the hiring process.

Candidate Experience and Onboarding

  • Ensure candidates receive a professional, positive experience from first contact through onboarding.
  • Create and use structured interview guides and screening questions.
  • Prepare offer letters and communicate job details to selected candidates.
  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and onboarding sessions.
  • Check onboarding documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Submit required employment paperwork to Human Resources within the required timelines.
  • Partner with hiring managers to support smooth integration and retention of new employees.

Compliance and Administration

  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and candidate files.
  • Follow federal, state, and local employment laws in hiring and onboarding practices.
  • Assist with recruiting reports and metrics when needed.
  • Handle sensitive candidate and employee information with discretion and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in recruiting, staffing, or talent acquisition.
  • Background recruiting for hospitality, operations, customer service, supply chain, or similar environments.
  • Strong organization and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at once.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information professionally.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems (ATS).

Preferred Background

  • Experience hiring for high-volume or hourly roles.
  • Familiarity with valet, hospitality, parking, or service-based operations.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or regional recruiting efforts.
  • Coursework or certification in Human Resources, Recruiting, or a related area.
