About the Role

Join Pomerleau Construction as an Assistant Project Manager on the WAHA Redevelopment Project, a transformative $1.8 billion initiative in Northern Ontario focused on enhancing healthcare infrastructure by delivering a modern hospital and healthcare facility. This position involves working closely with client groups, subcontractors, and the project team to manage this large-scale construction endeavor. Note that the role requires a 14-day on, 7-day off rotation based in Moosonee, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to the project team for coordination and overall project assistance.
  • Review, interpret, and update construction schedules with precision and reliability.
  • Maintain and follow up on shop drawings, requests for information (RFI’s), material purchase orders, change notice quotes, and documents related to project completion.
  • Analyze and evaluate project quotes to ensure the best market prices are secured.
  • Lead and uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental protection measures by enforcing project-specific safety standards in line with Pomerleau’s policies and applicable OH&S regulations among employees and trade partners.
  • Assist in fostering and maintaining positive relationships with subcontractors, clients, and other key project stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Approximately three or more years of experience in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction sector.
  • Possess a university degree or a technology diploma in engineering, or a comparable combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction project management methods, financial oversight, building codes, and related legislation.
  • Established record of successful project leadership and effective team collaboration.
  • Strong commitment to building and sustaining productive stakeholder relationships.
