Overview
Our client, a reputable general contractor, is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to aid in the execution of ground-up Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction projects within the Greater Toronto Area.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager during every stage of the construction process.
- Contribute to managing project timelines, budgets, procurement processes, and cost control.
- Collaborate and communicate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and onsite teams.
- Review and analyze drawings, specifications, requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, and change orders.
- Document project progress including taking meeting minutes and preparing status reports.
- Track important project milestones and help address any scheduling or coordination challenges.
- Support contract administration, manage project closeout materials, and handle deficiency resolution.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and contractual obligations throughout the project.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in the Canadian construction industry.
- Prior experience assisting with ground-up ICI construction projects is essential.
- A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Sound understanding of construction plans, documentation practices, and project coordination techniques.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with construction management software tools and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
