Role Overview

The team is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Product Designer with a strong interest in recycled plastics and sustainable design. The main focus of the role is custom mould design, while also contributing to the ongoing development of the studio’s machines. This is a practical, creative position with meaningful ownership from the outset.

What You Will Do

• Create client-specific mould designs in Fusion 360, taking each project from initial brief to a file ready for manufacture.
• Adapt mould designs for production, whether the parts are made internally or by outside suppliers.
• Run tests on returned moulds using the studio’s recycling and injection machines, then document findings in clear test reports.
• Complete final hand-finishing work before items are packed for shipping and despatch.
• Support the design of future Sustainable Design Studio machines, with training provided in areas such as electrical fundamentals.

What You Need

• Strong, practical experience with Fusion 360 is essential.
• A solid grasp of 3D printing workflows.
• Clear written communication and the confidence to take ownership in a small team setting.
• The legal right to work in the UK and the ability to work on-site in Hartley Wintney.

Nice to Have

• Interest in sustainability and recycling.
• Basic understanding of design for manufacture or injection moulding.
• Exposure to CNC, prototyping, workshop methods, or Excel.
• No prior industry experience is required; the team will provide hands-on training in its recycling and injection-moulding methods.

Working Style and Offer

This position is full-time at 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is based on-site in Hartley Wintney, England, United Kingdom.
