Overview
Foot Locker represents iconic brands at the intersection of sport, style, and individual expression. The Assistant Manager (AM) role is crucial in embodying sneaker culture by leading with enthusiasm, accountability, and a clear purpose. Assisting the Store Manager, the AM drives sales, coaches staff, and ensures daily store operations run smoothly with a spirited "Always on, Never no" approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example on the sales floor, infusing energy, confidence, and responsiveness in each customer interaction.
- Coach team members to deliver excellent service, deepen product knowledge, and keep customers engaged.
- Support achievement of sales targets by actively participating on the floor and ensuring customer follow-ups.
- Oversee store activities such as opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining floor coverage.
- Maintain store organization and readiness to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Follow all safety, loss prevention, and operational protocols to secure people and merchandise.
- Adopt an owner/operator mindset by promptly addressing issues and upholding high execution standards.
- Utilize retail technology and digital tools to enhance service and operational efficiency.
- Serve as the Manager on Duty when assigned, offering clear leadership and guidance.
- Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and training of store employees.
- Provide ongoing coaching, celebrate achievements, and address performance challenges in real time.
- Offer hands-on support across store operations and priorities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of retail experience, ideally in a leadership or key-holding capacity.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong verbal communication and collaborative skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Dependable, self-driven, and committed to taking ownership.
- Basic knowledge of retail key performance indicators and operational procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior roles as Key Holder, Supervisor, or Assistant Manager.
- Experience in fast-paced or high-volume retail environments.
- Ambition for long-term career progression in retail leadership.
