Job Summary
The role involves acting as an Electrical Design Engineer responsible for crafting electrical systems, managing panel engineering tasks, and overseeing industrial automation design. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure project success, covering aspects from design conceptualization to component selection and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze specific equipment and project needs to formulate effective electrical design approaches.
- Collaborate with the Mechanical Design division to exchange design inputs and integrate electrical design elements appropriately.
- Conduct fundamental electrical design calculations based on first principles for various equipment and system requirements.
- Compile and select Bills of Materials (BOM) and Component Bills of Order (CBO) for electrical and electronic parts.
- Maintain and update Input/Output (I/O) lists relevant to automation systems.
- Utilize EPLAN software to develop comprehensive electrical schematics, panel layouts, assembly diagrams, and detailed circuit drawings.
- Generate engineering drawings using AutoCAD and organize project documentation with MS Office tools.
- Identify, specify, and select automation hardware such as PLCs, HMIs, AC Variable Frequency Drives, DC Drives, and Servo Motors.
- Design and engineer electrical control panels, including cable selection and routing, ensuring functional and safety standards.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical standards, customer requirements, and project specifications.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Proven practical experience with EPLAN, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Thorough understanding of electrical design concepts and industrial automation systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, AC VFDs, DC Drives, and Servo Motor technologies for automation solutions.
- Strong background in panel and cable engineering.
- Excellent analytical capabilities, problem-solving aptitude, and strong coordination skills.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in any specialization is required.
