Role Overview
The Assistant Gym Manager, an Arabic-speaking full-time position located onsite in Doha, Qatar, supports the daily management of gym operations. Responsibilities include supervising fitness zones, organizing group exercise sessions, and assisting with personal training offers to promote a safe and inviting atmosphere for all. The role also encompasses managing guest interactions, scheduling activities, maintaining equipment quality, and enforcing health and safety regulations. Collaboration with the fitness team is essential to advance wellness initiatives and deliver a superior fitness experience consistent with the high standards of Waldorf Astoria.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven expertise in group exercise and training coordination to facilitate classes and small group activities.
- Well-versed in fitness industry trends and personal training methods to effectively support and guide members.
- Understanding of exercise physiology principles to contribute to evidence-based program development.
- Fluency in Arabic paired with competency in English, along with excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Prior experience working within gym, health club, or premium hospitality fitness environments.
- Possession of relevant fitness certifications such as personal training or group exercise, alongside familiarity with health and safety protocols.
- Capability to lead a diverse team, manage scheduling, and oversee operational duties efficiently.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and public holidays in accordance with hotel requirements.
